Middlemen having links with Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have reportedly revealed that the militant group is trying to sell the remains of beheaded American Photojournalist James Foley, in an attempt to raise funds for the organization.

A source reportedly revealed that ISIS has demanded one million dollar for Foley's body, which would be delivered across the border to Turkey, adding that they are willing to supply a DNA sample in order to facilitate a deal, BuzzFeed News reported.

Earlier, 15 European hostages were released following governments alleged payment of millions of dollars as ransom, whereas the British and American governments have refused to strike a deal for the hostages.

Maintaining anonymity, one of the sources revealed that ISIS were demanding a million dollars for the remains and would sent DNA to Turkey, adding that his purpose was to help the grieving family by terming it as 'humanity case'.

However, he also said that they wouldn't deliver the remains of beheaded American Photojournalist without receiving the money, the report added.

A senior official in the Free Syrian Army (FSA), who was involved in previous ISIS talks over U.S. hostages as well as deals to free European ones, said that it would be like a shame for the U.S. government, adding that people would ask the government on why they brought the body when they had a chance to negotiate when he was alive.

Meanwhile, a U.S. State Department official stated that they are trying to seek more information on whether ISIS is trying to sell the remains of U.S. hostages, while calling the idea as disgusting, the report added.
