American journalist James Foley's former employer, The Global Post has reportedly revealed that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants, who had abducted him, sent his family an email before beheading him.

The contents of the mail which was published by The Global Post on its website warned that the group will not stop until they have quenched their thirst for America's blood, both government and citizens alike, reported New York Post.

It also said that the United States (U.S) and its citizens will be pay the price for the military operations against ISIS in Iraq and that James Foley will be the first American citizen to be executed as a response to U.S. advances towards the organization.

The mail was received by Foley's family on August 12, a week before the ISIS released a video showing his beheading. It demanded a ransom of about 132 million dollars or the release of unspecified prisoners detained by the U.S.

The Foleys had received a mail earlier on November 26, 2013, a year after Foley was abducted in Syria.
