The Islamabad High Court has reportedly reinstated Zaka Ashraf to the post of chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The IHC had restrained Ashraf from his position in the Board after a former coach of the army cricket team, Major (retd) Nadeem Sadal challenged Ashraf's election to the post last year.

According to Dawn News, Ashraf was reinstated following hearings of an intra-court appeal filed by the ministry of inter-provincial coordination against the court's earlier ruling that had declared Ashraf's appointment as PCB chairman illegal.

The government had appointed Najam Sethi as acting chairman of the PCB and he was instructed to elect a permanent PCB chief within 90 days, but upon his failure to hold elections, Sethi was also removed from his post but reinstated same day.
