Islamic State (IS) has shifted to lesser known social networking sites after a clampdown on the group's presence on Twitter following its widely acknowledged success of social media offensive.
A number of Twitter accounts operated by the IS militant group have been shut down after they occupied swathes of Iraq and Syria.
There was increasing international pressure on the militant group after their Twitter activities reached its peak last week, reports the BBC.
After giving up on Twitter accounts, the group started posting on a lesser known networking site Diaspora.
Islamic State has been releasing pictures, statements and other updates on Diaspora since August 14th.
