Following the deadly Taliban attack on an army-run school in Peshawar, Pakistan's military has confirmed the death of 57 terrorists in 20 air strikes in the Khyber Agency's Tirah Valley.

The Dawn quoted the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asim Bajwa, as saying in a tweet that the fresh operation was launched after Tuesday's tragic incident, in which at least 145 people mostly school children had died.

He also said Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, who has returned from Kabul, is reviewing the military operation in the militancy-hit tribal area of Pakistan.

Major General Bajwa said the operation is still ongoing.
