The Italian Tennis Federation has banned Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace for life over their involvement in match-fixing.

The duo faces corruption accusations against them after intercepted internet conversations revealed the players had fixed matches.

37 -year-old Bracciali was accused of allegedly arranging a match in Newport, Rhode Island in 2007. Starace, meanwhile, was charged for agreeing to sell the result of a final in Casablanca in 2011.

President of Italian Tennis Federation Angelo Binaghi said that they might sue the players for damages in case they are convicted, Sport24 reported.

The federation conducted its own investigation following a probe by judicial authorities in Cremona.
