Women believe that despite the fact that cold or flu affect them and men in the same way, men take it harder and are more likely to feel sorry for themselves, a new study has found.

Contrary to the views of 41 percent of men in the new survey, 52 percent of women asserted that guys react in a different way by wallowing in their illness rather than just moving on with the day's work, the Daily Express reported.

The survey, which was conducted by health brand Potter's Herbals on 1,000 adults, found that 53 percent of women suffering from colds or flu "just get on with it and carry on as normal".

The findings also showed that 1 in 6 ladies believe that they were more pro-active at treating flu than men, by seeking out treatments.
