The Border Security Force (BSF) organised a free medical check-up camp at the border village of Chack Gujjara in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district for border residents.
The camp was inaugurated by MLA Rajiv Jasrtoia accompanied by BSF Commandant Bupinder Singh in the presence of villagers.
A team of doctors drawn from BSF, GMC Jammu and District hospital Samba checked more than 1000 patients and distributes the free medicines among the patients.
Talking to media persons, MLA Rajiv Jasrotia said that it's an effort of coordination with the people of border and the BSF.
"The medical camp on the door step of border villager gave much benefits to needy patients as they cannot go to Hiranagar after long journey. He said that BSF is always on front line of border to guard us and social works for the society is also part of civic action programme," he added.
Appreciating the role of BSF, a border resident said they are delighted of such social activities which take place in favour of the common masses.
The BSF medical camp on the door step of border residents serve nearly one thousand people including women in large number. The BSF have also arranged its own vehicle to lift the people to medical camp site.
