Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti held a meeting on Thursday with Governor N.N. Vohra and discussed various important matters relating to the affairs of the state including internal security.
The Governor and the Chief Minister also discussed the functioning of various departments, particularly the Power Development Department, the Social Welfare Department, the Information Department and the Sports and Youth Affairs Department.
During the meeting, the Governor also suggested the enforcement of a stringent approach in regard to all departments which were not performing adequately.
Vohra and Mehbooba also discussed the significant advantage of no delay in commencing the process of conducting elections to the Panchayats and urban local bodies.
The Governor reiterated his concern about ensuring prompt attention to public grievances, efficient delivery of public services and severe punishments to those involved in corrupt practices.
