Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S.P. Vaid on Friday accorded commendation certificate and cash reward to constable Farooq Ahmed, who earlier had foiled a rifle-snatching bid at a bank in valley's Charar-i-Sharief on August 7.

On August 7 afternoon, three unknown persons tried to snatch a weapon from a cop deployed as a guard at a bank in the Charari Sharief town of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir.

The vigilant policeman deployed at the guard foiled their attempt.

The CCTV footage showed the exemplary valour exhibited by the said policeman.

The Budgam Police has released the photographs of the three people involved in the weapon-snatching bid and sought information about them.
