The Jammu and Kashmir Engineers Association today protested against the maltreatment of the chief engineer of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Health Engineering Department by a minister of the state government, which led to him submitting his resignation.

The chief engineer accused Minister Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan of verbally abusing him during an official meeting. The latter, however, rejected the allegation.

Allegedly, the matter got serious after learning that the minister in charge of his department, too, was reportedly present in the meeting and failed to protect his own head of department.
