The state government of Jammu and Kashmir recently organized an Urdu counseling cum workshop for promotion of the language.
Teachers and professors from different states attended the event to enhance their understanding of the language.
"We teach the students in Urdu language and explain things to them. So, these people who are all in service teachers in different schools come here to learn in the workshop. The teaching is all activity based, which helps them to learn and help in the promotion of the language," Abdul Raheem, a professor from Uttar Pradesh, said on Sunday.
The workshop was organised in Maulana Azad National Urdu University in Srinagar.
Bachelor students were directed to attend the counseling cum workshop organized in the College of Teacher Education at Srinagar.

Professors from different parts of the country including Lucknow, Hyderabad and Delhi were invited to the workshop to share their expertise on the language.
"I am participating in the workshop that has been conducted here. I have learnt a lot from the professors, who are very talented and have a lot of expertise and knowledge in Urdu. It was also beneficial to learn from the professors who have come from other places. And it has become a thing of pride for Jammu and Kashmir and Muslims will work towards its success. The future of Muslim community will be, by God's grace, be very bright," said Atif Ahmad, a student attending the workshop.
The state government of Jammu and Kashmir is recently taking initiatives to promote Urdu and had launched various projects for the same.
The government had recently laid the foundation of Maulana Azad national Urdu University (MANUU) in Budgam district of Kashmir.
