A terrorist belonging to the proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was on Thursday killed in an encounter in Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, police said.
The slain terrorist has been identified as Danish who was involved in several terror attacks and many cases were registered against him, the police added.
After a tip-off, security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Yaroo area in Handwara this morning. Soon the search party was fired upon and subsequently, an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists started.
