The Pakistan Army on Thursday violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Arnia Sector.
The Indian Army is strongly retaliating to the intermittent firing by Pakistan.
The firing and heavy shelling by the Pakistani troops started around 7:00 p.m. No casualty has been reported.
Further details are awaited.
This ceasefire comes a day after one army jawan lost his life in Jammu and Kashmir's Keran Sector.
Earlier in the week, two Pakistani terrorists were killed after the Border Security Force (BSF) troops foiled an infiltration bid across the international boundary in the Ajnala Sector near Amritsar, Punjab.
