J-K village sarpanch accuses Pak of violating ceasefire

The sarpanch of the village along the Line of Control (LoC), where a civilian was killed on Saturday, has accused Pakistan of violating the ceasefire agreement between the two nations.

"The firing started at 5.15 pm and was started by Pakistan. Mortar shells hit our village. In the firing, Gulshan Bano was injured. We rushed her to a hospital in Uri, where she had died," Syed Mir Hussain, the sarpanch of Kamalkote village told ANI.

On Saturday, an Army jawan and Bano were killed after Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the LoC in the Uri Sector of the state. According to reports, the Indian troops responded strongly to the unprovoked firing, which continued till 7.00 pm.
