Kangana Ranaut, who is known for completely moulding herself into a character, was surprised to notice some striking similarities between herself and her character 'Jaanbaaz Julia' in the upcoming film Rangoon.
The actress found it interesting that Indian women during the 1940s were as open-minded and liberal in their thinking as they are today.
Julia is a sultry actress who falls in love with two men simultaneously - Saif Ali Khan, who is a filmmaker and Shahid Kapoor, a soldier.
She is a feisty and fearless diva who performs and entertains the Indian soldiers of the British Indian army in the film.
Kangana as well as her team, was amazed to see a woman in the 1940s being okay with the concept of falling in love with two men simultaneously.
While she lived the character in front of the camera, she realized that women have not transformed into being bold or progressive in the 21st century, they were inherently liberal since time immemorial.
