Jack Bruce, the founder member of 1960s rock band Cream has died at the age of 71 followed by a liver disease.
Bruce's family stated that it was with great sadness that they announce the passing of their beloved Bruce; husband, father, granddad, and all round legend, the Independent reported.
Bruce gained fame as one of the most famous and influential bass players in rock and played alongside guitarist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker.
The Scottish musician was also a composer and singer, and played various instruments during his solo career.
Cream sold 35 million albums in just over two years and was awarded the world's first ever platinum disc for their LP Wheels of Fire.
