The chief administrative officer (CAO) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Ratnakar Shetty, on Monday expressed his grief over the death of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya, and said he will always be remembered by the cricketing fraternity.

"Jagmohan Dalmiya brought BCCI to a level where it can stand on its own and he was the person who announced a Platinum Pension Scheme for all retired Test cricketers and umpires as a part of Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2005," Shetty told ANI.

"He always stood strong for BCCI to counter any problem, it is a big loss to BCCI," he added.

Dalmiya passed away last evening following a massive cardiac arrest. He was 75 years old.

He was admitted to BM Birla Heart Research Centre on Thursday due to a heart problem.
