A Pakistani doctor who was jailed after helping the CIA in the hunt for Osama bin Laden is facing new legal turmoil after the tribunal hearing his appeal was dissolved, said officials.

According to Dawn News, Afridi was jailed in May 2012 for 33 years after he was convicted of ties to militants.

However, some US lawmakers said the case was revenge for Afridi helping in the hunt for the Al Qaeda chief.

A tribunal cut 10 years of Afridi's sentence last year.
