Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has told the Rajya Sabha that a high-level committee will be set up soon to look into the issue of payment of Minimum Alternate Tax (MAT) by Foreign institutional investors (FIIs).
Replying to a debate on the Finance Bill in the Upper House on Thursday, Jaitley said the committee will also look into few other tax issues, which are essentially legacy ones.
The government, he said, would also consider the recommendation of the committee and take an appropriate decision as early as possible.
