Jamaica produced a spirited performance on Thursday as they upset the odds by defeating title holders USA 2-1 to reach their first ever Concacaf Gold Cup final in front of sellout crowd in Atlanta.
Darren Mattocks netted a brilliant header to put the Caribbean nation ahead in the 31st minute before Giles Barnes doubled the lead five minutes later through a magnificent free-kick.
Although the American pulled one back through a Michael Bradley close-range shot shortly after the break, Jamaica successfully held on till the final whistle.
The match also witnessed USA being denied a spot in the final of the Gold Cup for the first time in 12 years, the Guardian reported.
Jamaica will meet either Panama or Mexico in their first appearance in a Gold Cup final on Sunday.
