American actor James Franco has been roped in to play the twins in American author David Simon's new HBO project 'Deuce', a porn drama about the rise of the New York sex industry in the 1970s and 80s.
According to Hollywood reporter, the Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets author said in a recent interview that he and author George Pelecanos were not willing to take this project when they first heard the word "porn", but however the duo decided to take the project in order to explore the porn world.
The 'Deuce', which will start filming in New York, will explore the rough and tumble world that existed in midtown Manhattan and the violence of the cocaine epidemic.
The porn drama is inspired by the career of twin brothers who were players in the Times Square world and became fronts for mob control of the volatile and lucrative sex industry from its origins.
