It's here, the famous Mumbai Shiv Sagar restaurant chain, which started in the 1980's.
This restaurant opened in the national capital in November 2014. Located on Janpath in New Delhi's upmarket Connaught Place, this restaurant has a very good ambience and a seating capacity for 110 people.
Its interiors have elegant colour combinations. The plates are plastic, but can be replaced by stainless steel ones. There is a separate section for special get togethers.
For the true Mumbaite, Shiv Sagar is a must visit for nostaligic reasons. Be it Chowpatty Beach or the smell and taste of the spicy Mumbai Pav Bhai or Vada Pav, the dining fare is most authentic.
The restaurant's Paneer Makhni, which is made with a tinge of Methi Powder, is simply awesome. The Dal Makhni too is very good in terms of texture and preparation, and would have been even more perfect had there been a little more garlic.
One of my all time favorite breads is the Garlic Roti which complements any gravy item.
The restaurant serves south Indian as well as Chinese cuisine. The price range is quite reasonable. Do definitely ask for Shiv Sagar's special sweet dish.
The restaurant is a must visit for people who want to fill their bellies with lip smacking food. I would definitely recommend it. (ANI)
