A Japanese multinational provider of IT services and products, NEC, hosted the C and C User Forum and iEXPO 2014 at Tokyo International Forum recently.

The two-day expo was attended by some 24,000 visitors.

Under a new brand message "Orchestrating a brighter world" the annual event is designed for a deeper understanding of NEC's solutions for society.

One exhibitor said, "NEC is promoting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to build a strong infrastructure in the fields of transportation, energy, water and food production. It is creating new value and bringing happiness to people."

The exhibition showcased the latest NEC Group products and solutions, which are aimed at the realization of social values such as safety, security, efficiency, and equality that are essential for people in modern society.

Visitors were introduced to around 100 exhibits and lectures on a wide array of solutions, experienced the leading-edge network and computing technologies, wide range of products, services, and know-how developed at NEC for many years.

Another exhibitor said, "This is a stress-free; the fastest and most accurate face recognition technology. With this monitoring camera and a PC, it's very easy to set up the system at once."

A third exhibitor said, "This is a water leak monitoring service, to detect the water leak point. The robot finds out the cracks in pipes."

Another exhibitor said, "This is the low stress blood pressure monitoring technology; it's possible to monitor blood pressures for 24 hours, during working or sleeping."

The NEC has been annually hosting the C and C User Forum and iEXPO for nearly 20 years.

Since the establishment in 1899, the NEC has built a rich history of technological innovations, by continually offering better products and services both for Japan and the world.

Another exhibitor said, "Here, we are introducing the case study of the SDN networking Solution at East Japan Railway station."

"When I take a picture of the clothes, this service searches the internet based on the picture," said one more exhibitor.

Founded in 1917, Kyosan Electric Manufacturing Corporation has been producing the railway signal systems, road traffic signal systems, and power conversion systems.

The company has annual sales of over 60 billion yen, and more than 70 per cent revenue is from the railway signal system business.

Kyosan's factory was first founded in Yokohama, Japan in 1928.

Since then, Kyosan Electric has been developing and producing various products, many of which are Japan's and the world's first products.

The company has commercialized Japan's first railway signal relay in 1920.

Later on, Kyosan has produced various products first before the rest of Japan, such as the electrical signaling device, electric switching machine, crossing alarms and electronic interlocking device.

In addition, the world's first automated operation signal security device for new medium volume transportation systems was commercialized in 1981.

This year, the new plant has been completed after the large scale factory reorganization.

The new plant has been re-built as the production base to achieve a consistent production from the assembly to inspection.

It aggregates the signal plant and semiconductor factory to improve the efficiency of the production line.

Kyosan have also achieved risk management for natural disaster and environmental considerations.
