Jared Leto may star in Warner Bros.' and DC Entertainment's upcoming superhero film 'Suicide Squad.'
The project, which is to be helmed David Ayer, would see the Oscar and Golden Globe winning 'Dallas Buyers Club' actor, 42, in the role of the Joker, if he is signed, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
Created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru, the Suicide Squad team, also known as Task Force X, is about convicted supervillains who get a chance to redeem themselves through dangerous missions.
The 'Thirty Seconds to Mars' singer, who's been busy focusing on his music, admitted that he was eyeing the project, and was "excited" about how things were progressing.
Though Leto added that he was looking forward to doing films in 2015, he said he couldn't reveal the project yet, but there would be "something to talk about soon."
The film, which is already in the works, is anticipated for an August 2016 release.
