Former Australia fast bowler Jason Gillespie has claimed that he is 'flattered' that people are linking his name to the role of head coach for England, who suffered an early exit from the World Cup following their disastrous loss to Bangladesh that has mounted the pressure on incumbent Peter Moores.
England's 15-run loss on Monday knocked them out of the elite tournament and looks to have sounded the death knell for Moores' second stint in charge.
Gillespie is favoured to succeed Moores if the position becomes vacant but, while he wants to coach internationally in the future, the timing may not be right as he claims that he is fully committed to his domestic team Yorkshire, News.com.au reported.
Gillespie said that he is flattered that people link his name to England but added that he is fully committed to Yorkshire. He said that the county has given him a great opportunity and he wants to repay that faith.
The former paceman said that he really enjoys his job, his family's very settled and he feels that they have still got a lot of work to do at the club going forward.
Gillespie has a young family of four children and knows the travel demands of international cricket can have a detrimental effect on the home life. He claimed that international coaching is certainly something he would look at down the track but added that what one has got to remember is that he has got a very young family.
Gillespie said that his kids are nine, seven, four and two, adding that that would be a really big ask to go away for basically nine-10 months a year with an international job.
