The 14-day Jat quota agitation ends on Sunday with the All India Jat Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti (AIJSS) calling off the protest
The decision to call off the agitation came after a marathon meeting held between the Samiti President Yashpal Malik and Haryana Minister Krishan Lal Panwar in Delhi.
After the meeting, Malik announced that the Haryana Government has almost accepted all of their demands and assured them to resolve the issues within the ambit of law.
He said that the state government has been given time till August 31 to resolve the Jat's issues.
Among major demands, protesting Jats have been demanding release of youth arrested during February stir, adequate compensation and job to next of kin of those who lost their lives in the recent stir.
They have also called for sincere efforts by the government to get the stay vacated on Jat reservation in Punjab and Haryana High Court and withdrawal of cases against protesters during current phase of agitation.
The Haryana Government had also held talks with several Jat leaders and Khap representatives in Panchkula earlier on Friday in this regard.
