Minister of State for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar on Thursday hit back at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the grand old party, which stalled development in the last years, is playing the worst politics.

"Congress stopped development in 10 years when they were ruling with their policy paralysis and corruption, and now they are also trying to stop development by disrupting the Parliament," Javadekar told the media here.

"Secondly, as far as Rahul's utterances are concerned, before asking question to the Prime Minister, he has to answer where the looted money of 10 years of UPA regime, nearly 12 lakh crore rupees of scams, where is the money stashed away? That they must tell and confront," he added.

The Congress vice-president had earlier launched a blistering attack on the government for its adamant stand and not asking the tainted ministers to resign.

Gandhi said it is high time Prime Minister Modi understands that he does not represent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but the nation.
