Javed Akhtar wants Aamir's 'Dangal' to be tax free

It is not only Aamir Khan, ace lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar too feels the former's upcoming film 'Dangal' deserves to be tax free.

The 71-year-old poet took to his Twitter handle to share his thoughts, "With out beating the pulpit DANGAL is s film about women's empowerment, love for sports and national pride. Deserves to be tax free."

Reportedly, the makers of the film will apply for tax exemption for the forthcoming film.

The biopic portrays the 51-year-old actor as Mahavir Singh Phogat, father of wrestler Geeta Phogat, who won India's first ever gold medal in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games in 2010. It also shows the journey and struggle of Geeta and her sister Babita.

 

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Rajkumar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and is to release on December 23.
