The Janata Dal (United) on Wednesday refused to either confirm or deny reports which say that former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will replace the current incumbent Jitan Ram Manjhi.
"We are neither denying nor confirming these possibilities," party spokesperson KC Tyagi told ANI here.
As per reports, some Janata Dal MLAs and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad have been pushing for Nitish's return to the top job.
Nitish, who quit as Bihar's chief minister following his party's debacle in the Lok Sabha elections, is also holding a meeting with his party's leaders today.
Elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly are scheduled will be held later this year.
