The Janata Dal (United) has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government to give a befitting reply to Pakistan both at the border as well as diplomatic-level in the wake of the escalating ceasefire violations.
JD (U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan told ANI the nation stands with the Indian Army.
"The Indian Army is the best army in the world. The entire nation has lauded the Indian Army post the surgical strikes. The country backs the Indian Army and the government," he said.
The JD (U)'s reaction came after an Indian soldier was killed and his body mutilated by terrorists in an attack near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
Sepoy Mandeep Singh, who died in the attack, was 27 years old. The attack took place under cover fire provided by the Pakistan Army. One terrorist was killed in the strike.
The attack came hours after the Border Security Force (BSF) said 15 Pakistani soldiers had been killed in retaliatory firing by the Indian troops after ceasefire violation along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir.
