Reiterating his opposition to the Land Acquisition Ordinance, Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav on Wednesday said that he was preparing for a big movement against the ordinance.

"We want this law to be taken back totally. We are preparing for our movement which will be big. This is the most important industry in the country, which provides employment and food. They (government) have acquired so much land, why don't they make land banks out of it?" said Yadav.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu had earlier hit out at opposition protests against the Land Acquisition Ordinance, saying the engine of growth needs to restart in the country.

Meanwhile, the Congress party is scheduled to hold a mega rally called 'Zameen Wapsi Andolan' at the Jantar Mantar here to oppose the ordinance.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had also stepped up pressure on the Centre by joining social activist Anna Hazare at his protest at the Jantar Mantar yesterday.

Terming the ordinance to be 'anti-farmer and anti-poor', Kejriwal had stated that if it was passed the government would act like a property dealer for big corporate honchos.
