Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who recently forged an alliance with Jharkhand Vikas Morch Prajatantrik (JVM-P) chief Babu Lal Marandi, on Wednesday said the Janata Dal United (JDU) and the JVM-P will work in cooperation for the upcoming 2014 general elections.

On Tuesday, in a meeting held at JDU leader K.C. Tyagi's house, the JVM-P had decided to ally with the JDU and will jointly contest 2014 election in Jharkhand, though there has been no official announcement made on the alliance.

"Yesterday, I had a nice chat with Babu Lal Marandi, and, we both agree that we should work in cooperation with each other. And, if in future, there is a need for a more detailed conversation, then we definitely will do that. There was conformity on this between the JDU and the JVM," Nitish told media here today.

Brushing off rumours about a possible dialogue on forming a Third Front, Nitish said, "We had a chat with him, as the matter concerned relates to Jharkhand and Bihar. But regarding national politics, it is premature to talk about the Third Front right now.
