Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been criticized for using the word "slope", which is a derogatory term for Asian people, during filming the show's Burma special.

The 53-year-old broadcaster sparked outrage after he said that it was a proud moment, but there was a "slope", when a man crossed the presenters' makeshift bridge, the Daily Star reported.

Viewers took to Twitter to express their shock over the racial remark, as they branded it "subtle racism".

One of the users said that the word was not big, clever or funny, while another user that a great show was ultimately spoilt by a gag too far and another user said that it is unbelievable that the show is allowed to broadcast racist rubbish.
