Stoke City footballer Jermaine Pennant has reportedly been criticised for donning a Osama Bin Laden costume for a New Year bash.
The winger carried toy dynamite and bullets and donned white robes, sandals and a mask of the dead al-Qaida chief, while Pennant's model fiancee Alice Goodwin posted two photos of the fancy dress outfit on her Instagram page.
According to the Daily Star, one of the photos showed Pennant dressed as Bin Laden and clutching the dynamite, while the other showed him wearing a fake band of bullets with his distinctive tattoos clearly showing.
Although some of Goodwin's followers loved the controversial gear, others slammed the footballer, saying that it was not his 'smartest move' and that the costume had 'no taste'.
It is not the first time Pennant has courted controversy, with the former Liverpool, Arsenal and Leeds United star getting a suspended eight-week prison sentence after being found guilty of drink-driving while disqualified and without insurance two years ago.
Bin Laden, who master-minded the 9/11 terror attacks, was shot dead in 2011 after being hunted down to a hideout in Pakistan by US Navy Seals, the report added.
