After a Jet Airways aircraft skidded off the runway at Dabolim airport in Goa while aligning for takeoff to Mumbai this morning, the stranded passengers said the situation was very critical even twenty minutes after the untoward incident, adding there was no one for help.
"We didn't understand what happened. There is no one, who is ready to help. The concerned authorities are keeping quiet and not giving any answer," said one of the stranded passengers.
"It was terrible. The engine exploded and we could've died," said a foreigner on board the aircraft.
As many as 15 persons suffered minor injuries after flight 9W 2374 spun around 360 degrees while take off from the 'HANSA runway 26'.
"We regret to inform flight 9W 2374 from GOI - BOM, with 154 guests and 7 crew, veered off the runway while aligning for takeoff. All guests and crew have been safely evacuated. Few guests have sustained injuries during the evacuation process," said a Jet Airways statement.
The airline stated that medical assistance is being given to those injured.
