The crew of the flight B737-800 has been placed off roster in order to assist with the investigation following a narrow escape for 168 people as tail of the plane hit the runway on landing at the Dhaka International airport on January 22.

The incident has been reported to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

In a detailed statement, Jet Airways said the crew of the flight has been placed off roster in order to assist with the investigation as a standard practice.

"Jet Airways flight 9W-276 of December 22, 2017, from Mumbai to Dhaka with 8 crew and 160 guests, had a tail-strike on landing. There were no injuries to guests or crew, all of whom deplaned safely and have since proceeded onwards to their final destinations," said the statement.

The statement further added that the aircraft - a B737-800, is currently being inspected by the Jet Airways' Engineering team at Dhaka prior to it rejoining routine operations.

Further, Jet Airways said it continues to offer all cooperation to support the investigation in its aircraft incident.
