Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said that people will vote in the ongoing assembly elections in the state based on the work done by his government.
"I have done my work before the elections. Now, it is up to the people. We have done our work in our tenure. You need to ask the people now about the elections," said Soren when asked to comment on the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's prospects this time.
"The elections are almost over now, it is finished. We are now waiting for 23rd when the results will be declared," he added.
Soren is among the 208 candidates whose fates will be decided today. Soren is in fray from Dumka, from where he had been elected in 2009.
In Jharkhand, over 53 percent polling has taken place till 1 p.m. in 16 constituencies in the fifth and last phase of the elections.
The polling is underway for 16 constituencies spread over six districts of Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, Jamtara, Deoghar and Pakud in the Santhal Pargana region.
The Election Commission has made elaborate security arrangements to prevent any untoward incident.
