The guy, who recently stole Late Jimi Hendrix's famous guitar, is now trying to cash in by selling it, but those involved with the singer's estate are gunning to shut down the sale.

The acoustic Black Widow guitar, which went to the 'Purple Haze' hit-maker's father when he died in 1970, was later given to Experience Hendrix, LLC which is the singer's licensing and merchandising company, reports TMZ.com.

According to the lawsuit, it is believed that the guitar was in possession of Experience Hendrix until June 2014, when Julien's Auctions contacted the company to authenticate a Black Widow that Brian Patterson was attempting to sell as a Hendrix treasure.

Hendrix's attorneys claim that Patterson got the guitar from a guy who somehow got it after divorcing the 'Hey Joe' singer's sister Janie Hendrix.

Ed McPherson, a representative of the firm has asked Patterson to hand over the guitar immediately and to fork over at least 750,000 dollars in damages.
