Minister of State for Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh, who inaugurated the 'Purbashree stall' at Dilli Haat, INA, here, today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed north-east on the special focus of the government's agenda.

Singh expressed his delight over the fact that the BJP-led NDA regime would complete two years in office in the next ten days.

"You must have realised that over the past two years, ever since the present government took over, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed north-east on the special focus of the government's agenda," Singh said.

"It is high on the priority of the Prime Minister and the government. There have been recurrent tours and visits by the ministers to the north-east," he added.

The Purbashree stall has been set up by the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd (NEHHDC) in an effort to give further boost to the development and promotion of handicrafts and handloom products from the north-east region.

The stall will showcase a wide variety of ethnic and exquisite handicrafts and handlooms products, which are eco-friendly and bio degradable.
