Union Minister of State for Personnel and Training Dr. Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said his meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra here was 'purely personal'.
"This is purely a personal meeting. I had come here to extend my invitation for a wedding in family," Singh said.
The meeting assumed significance as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the People's Democratic Party continue to scramble to come up with a mutually satisfactory alliance in Jammu and Kashmir
The BJP had earlier this week said there are a number of issues that needed to be resolved before the two parties agree to form a coalition government in the state.
A fractured verdict in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections last year left no party with a clear majority. The highest number of seats was won by the PDP, but with 28 seats, the party fell well short of the 44 seats required to form a majority government.
