Workers of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clashed in Ranchi today over the jeering of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren a couple of days ago.
JMM protesters displayed black flags to Union Minister for Labour and Employment Narendra Singh Tomar upon his arrival at Ranchi Airport.
Upset over the incident, the protesters blamed BJP workers for pre-planning the fight.
"We were protesting peacefully and were sitting with black flags when the people from the administration came and asked us to move to the corner. We agreed to it and continued with our protest. The BJP workers had pre-planned to hit us today. They came with sticks, and there were many goons and criminals," said JMM worker Arun Kumar.
"This is not at all acceptable in a democracy. The CM was insulted, two to three workers of our party have also been injured. We will definitely give them an answer," he added.
Yesterday, Soren had also termed the jeering, which he received when sharing the dais with PM Narendra Modi, as unfortunate.
The Jharkhand chief minister was speaking at the inauguration of the National Digital Literacy Mission in Ranchi when he was jeered at by supporters of Prime Minister Modi.
