Thousands of job seekers thronged the IG Park to try their luck to skill themselves as Chief Minister Nabam Tuki told them that the event is a springboard for a 'Naya Arunachal'.

Social security and food security (NFSO was launched by him on August 20 to ensure no one dies of hunger in the state) are the responsibilities of the government and the success of the mela would turn to be a model for the country.

Arunachal has huge potential in hydropower, clean and green energy and human resources which could make Arunachal a donor state and help enrich the national exchequer, Tuki reasoned, and exhorted the elected leaders to bring mass awareness.

Arunachalees belonging to the sensitive and border state have a greater responsibility in protecting the motherland, he said, and exhorted the youth to attend the Army recruitment rally at Aalo on September 2 for which the GoAP would make fooding and lodging arrangements.

Such mela would be organized in every district quarterly for all to avail the opportunity, he said, and urged the power developers to set up in-house training facility for the locals and the vocational training providers to start training by September end.

"My target is not only creating one lakh jobs in five years but to make Arunachal a huger-free, tension-free and crime-free state. All of us have to join hands to turn the gigantic task a reality, he said.

"Apka sapna sakar karna ye mela ka udesh hai (The fair aims at turning your dream into a reality), said Chief Secretary Hari Krishna and CM's Principal Adviser on Skill Development Sharada Prasad.

However, during the debriefing session in the evening, most of the VTPs expressed their satisfaction at the encouraging response and wanted to know the terms and conditions for providing training and placement. And both of them assured to respond to all queries tomorrow. Later, the Chief Minister accompanied by Agri-Horti Minister Setong Sena, Deputy SPB chairman Takar Marde, Parliamentary Secretary Padi Richo, MLA Alo Libang and other officers inspected every stall to encourage the VTP representatives, job seekers and volunteers.

The job seekers' spirit could not be dampened by sun and rain which intermittently played hide and seek game.

Meanwhile, INTUC Arunachal Pradesh Branch President Padi Richo termed the event a trend setter, while Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Lala Techi lauded it as a novel initiative of GoAP, particularly the Chief Minister and Industries Minister Tapang Taloh that would bring attitudinal change among the local youth.

All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union President Kamta Lapung appreciated the move that would go a long way in skilling the local youth and end unemployment problem confronting the state.
