The Kerala nurses who returned from Iraq yesterday are making headlines in the local as well as national newspapers. Television channels, online media and social networking sites are filled with reports of the nurses who are being highlighted as war heroes returning back home.
Local, national and international channels flew to the tiny coastal region to cover the news of their reunion with their families.
Now, because of the publicity, a lot of job offers from Non Residents Keralites are pouring in for the nurses. Many are also being offered nursing jobs in Gulf hospitals with high salaries.
The Altas Group, Amrita Institute of Medical Science etc have offered jobs to the nurses. Even marriage proposals are pouring in for many of the unmarried nurses.
From the government's side, a formal notice has been released by the Health Minister V.S. Shiva Kumar offering jobs at Shree Uthuradam Thirunal Hospital Trivandrum.
The government is also working out for a rehabilitation package to all the 46 nurses on which the Chief Minister himself has initiated the process.
