U.S. Vice President Joe Biden arrived here late last night on the second leg of his ongoing visit to India.
During his Mumbai visit, he will focus on the US-India trade partnership. He is expected to speak at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
He will also attend a round table conference with Indian business leaders later in the day at the Hotel Taj Mahal. On Thursday, he is scheduled to pay a visit to the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B), at Powai in central suburban Mumbai.
Earlier on Tuesday, Biden met President Pranab Mukherjee, his Indian counterpart Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi.
His visit to India is expected to lay the ground work for a visit to the United States of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in September-October, during which he is expected to hold meetings with President Barack Obama.
