The 'Elephant Man' star John Hurt, who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, has been awarded with knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II.
The 75-year-old actor has been awarded for his 'services to drama' and received his honor during an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, E! Online reported.
Hurt is halfway through his chemotherapy and has got many tests next week and the actor also revealed that everything is going well and his oncologist is extremely optimistic.
The actor appeared onscreen in the '60s and starred in numerous TV shows and movies, primarily filmed in his native England.
