John Kerry to meet Iraqi PM to build support against IS militant group

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has landed in Iraq and is due to meet the Prime Minister Haidar-al-Abadi in the next 48 hours to build support for action against Islamic State militants.

In the fight against IS militants, an inclusive government was a condition for greater U.S. and NATO support.

U.S. President Barack Obama is due to give a speech describing his strategies to fight against the Islamic State fighterds, reported the BBC.

Obama said on Tuesday that he had the power to increase military operations against Islamic State militants without the approval of Congress.

Is militants have taken over large swathes of Iraq and Syria in the recent months.
