EGOT winner John legend is all set to co-produce the remake of 2017 French film 'Le Brio'.
Legend's production company Get Lifted Film Company will join forces with French producer Dmitri Rassam of 'The Little Prince' fame and produce the upcoming remake of the aforementioned film.
The original French film is about an unusual relationship between a young French-Arab woman (Camelia Jordana), a resident of a poor neighbourhood, and a professor (Daniel Auteuil) who is eventually forced to coach the former for an annual speech contest, reported Variety.
Letitia Wright of 'Black Panther' fame will star as the female lead in the film and will also don the hat of an executive producer.
Wright's character will explore the complex relationship that is shown in the original film. But, in the remake, the plot would not involve the speech competition as the base of the whole story.
Rassam mentioned that with the inputs from Legend, he will make the remake "more of a political bend than the French film" which in turn will reflect the "tense climate" when it comes to "race relations in the US".
The film is expected to go into production next year, but a director for it is yet-to-be found.
