British musician John Lennon's killer Mark Chapman has been denied parole for the 8th time.

The authorities in New York ruled that Chapman, who was sentenced to 20 years to life after he plead guilty in 1981 to the murder of the Beatles star, should not be released as it would be "incompatible with the welfare of society", the BBC reported.

Chapman, now 59, who had shot Lennon four times outside a Manhattan apartment block back in 1980, can appeal for parole again after 2 years.
