A newly surfaced letter has revealed that John Lennon made desperate attempts to boost Yoko Ono's music career by getting her onto TV.
The late 40-year-old musician wrote to TV host Joe Franklin in 1971 with an intention to help Ono's falling music career, the Daily Express reported.
The letter which goes under the hammer in October end, described Lennon's efforts by asking Franklin to invite the Japanese-born singer on his show, however Ono never appeared on the show.
Bobby Livingston, of RR Auction, said the written plea ultimately failed, adding that even the biggest rock star in the world couldn't convince the executives of Ono's talent.
The letter, dated December 13, 1971, is expected to fetch 12,000 pounds at an auction.
